This photo was taken of a Hippopotamus at the San Francisco Zoo. Hippopotamus's sleep, breed, and give birth and nurse their young in shallow water. They can stay under water for about 3 to 5 minutes. Despite their large size, hippos are agile animals and can run faster than humans! Their natural habitat is in Africa.
